  1. I have never had an American blended whisky (it can't even be bought where I live), and don't doubt people who say it isn't good, but I nevertheless find it fascinating. It wouldn't qualify as "whisky" at all anywhere outside the US, was more popular (ie, better selling) than bourbon in America for about 40 years, and is never written about (outside of an occasional perfunctory dismissal) by all of the good people writing about American whisky these days, notwithstanding that the number of cases of it sold in a year in America now is about equal to the number of cases of scotch sold in America in a year. Interesting, to me anyway.

    1. It's really bourbon-flavored vodka. I make that joke about Canadian Club all the time, but American blends really are bourbon-flavored vodka. And that's a flavor combination that just does not work. It ruins Old Fashioneds. Becomes a waste of ice when it's put on the rocks. Maybe that's why people are flooding to Fireball "Whisky" because it actually tastes like something other than turpentine and glue. Anyway, may I encourage you to live a long life without ever tasting Kessler.

    1. I cut the Steve Carlton line then put it back in for the final cut. So glad SOMEONE got it.
