But after this experience, I'm pretty confident the spirit is too muscular to let any winey stuff intrude.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-67577978540379048072019-01-23T18:49:00.508-05:002019-01-23T18:49:00.508-05:00One thing that slightly worried me was the inclusi...One thing that slightly worried me was the inclusion of wine casks in this version. I really enjoyed the NAS Port Charlotte Islay Barley because the ex-bourbon casks didn't cover up the spirit character. So I'm a bit relieved that this is not overly sweet or wine-y.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13215982348779717643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-91527874808714905632019-01-20T22:01:26.384-05:002019-01-20T22:01:26.384-05:00Thanks, Franck! I'll take Port Charlotte instead.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-20793209659409502472019-01-20T22:00:06.315-05:002019-01-20T22:00:06.315-05:00Thanks Chris. Been trying Port Charlotte 10 up against Longrow Peated and the PC has much more complexity to it.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-91224713966121578322019-01-17T13:56:18.247-05:002019-01-17T13:56:18.247-05:00Well written review as always, you really nailed i...Well written review as always, you really nailed it, the nose has a fair bit of sweetness but it's thankfully free of it on the palate. Which delivers that big peated spirit. Great stuff I really hope they can keep delivering this level, I don't think it's getting the same kind of zeal that Octomore gets but that just leaves more for the rest of us. Laphroaig CS is a bigger, more overwhelming experience than Port Charlotte 10. It depends what you want. I don't think you can go wrong with either.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-2022509866243363162019-01-11T15:08:06.317-05:002019-01-11T15:08:06.317-05:00Nice review!
