But I don't know if that has anything to do with anything.

My experience with Brimstone has been limited to one decent-sized tasting. It was liquid brisket in the nose and palate. Interesting as a stunt or experiment, but nothing I need to spend my money on. Your bottle of batch 11-10 sounded much worse than what I had, but I can easily imagine a batch of that stuff going terribly wrong.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-30742563830625996912014-08-14T17:10:19.225-04:002014-08-14T17:10:19.225-04:00You like the Brimstone more than this? Thank you. The wording is pretty clever in that even if the rules behind corn whisky change that subpart doesn't have to. As long as the whisky follows the definition of corn whisky, you can't label it anything else.

So if my math is right, if Buffalo Trace's low rye mashbill is really 8% rye, then there needs to be at least 13% malt barley in there to drop the corn percentage below 80%.

Thanks again!Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-21893539361903375402014-08-12T14:51:22.772-04:002014-08-12T14:51:22.772-04:00Code of Federal Regulations Title 27, PART 5, Subp...Code of Federal Regulations Title 27, PART 5, Subpart C, §5.22, (2) includes the sentence: "Whisky conforming to the standard of identity for corn whisky must be designated corn whisky."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
