A reader or two out there believes that when one purchases a sample fpr a company one doesn't know where in the bottle it came from or how it was stored, how much oxidation happened, etc.

Personally, I've found only two messed up samples out of something like 60 or 70 for MoM's samples of their non-exclusive whiskies. Something around a 95% success rate. BUT for their own MoM exclusive bottlings, like their single casks and TBWC batches, the majority of my samples tasted totally off, which is really weird.

I've purchased samples from other companies have yet to find a dud with them. Thus, I use my best judgement when doing a review.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-28171598443035717102016-01-27T22:06:11.803-05:002016-01-27T22:06:11.803-05:00What's the objection to MoM?What's the objection to MoM?Tysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03471097574427732454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-73473817547361206292016-01-27T00:05:37.084-05:002016-01-27T00:05:37.084-05:00When I first tried A'bunadh (which was a bottl...When I first tried A'bunadh (which was a bottle of Batch 32), I made the rookie mistake of going full water when I should never go full water (well, more like 50:50 water and whisky but I really wanted to make a Tropic Thunder reference). When I got a later bottle of Batch 46, I simply went for a single spoonful of water which seems to be right where I liked it. Incidentally I could not find a difference between either batch which should be a credit on Aberlour's consistency.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13215982348779717643noreply@blogger.com
