Especially since they don't let many casks go onto the market. Clynelish and Caol Ila seem to be the exceptions, so luckily we have the indie bottlers releasing interesting versions. Though there do seem to be fewer and fewer.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-14412265817196044452017-01-18T14:22:34.070-05:002017-01-18T14:22:34.070-05:00I almost lost it when I realized that Clynelish (b...I almost lost it when I realized that Clynelish (bottled at 46 percentage ABV) was chill-filtered. I'm getting more and more done with Diageo.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00978426684960768698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-24995140636080891512014-11-25T01:06:01.243-05:002014-11-25T01:06:01.243-05:00I like that comparison. Sadly, that song has been sung before.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-13724465861709956902014-11-18T20:25:23.265-05:002014-11-18T20:25:23.265-05:00It's not my comment I'm afraid but I remem...It's not my comment I'm afraid but I remember reading it on a whisky forum. Caramel coloring is like breast implants. They make you say "Wow!" but you know they aren't real. It's interesting (or creepy) that you also compare caramel to plastic surgery.

Alongside Dalwhinnie and Clynelish, I feel Oban is a great "graduation" malt once you've cut your teeth on the three Glens (or Balvenie).Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13215982348779717643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-86884923961068075222012-06-21T19:35:19.083-04:002012-06-21T19:35:19.083-04:00It is a light one and I would LOVE to see it at 46...It is a light one and I would LOVE to see it at 46%. I'm thankful Diageo didn't release it at 40%, like they did with Cardhu and Singleton. And yeah, at 14yrs and 46% Clynelish's price is right on.Diving for Pearlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373371259792882112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3101162324715983722.post-77258529887769128012012-06-21T18:49:57.324-04:002012-06-21T18:49:57.324-04:00Yeah. A bump up to 46% would probably help, but given the supply/demand situation, I doubt they're interested in changing. Thankfully as you note, Clynelish 14 is pretty similar, a lot cheaper, and bottled at a higher strength.Jordanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06448702693643593156noreply@blogger.com
